What is Feng Shui

left photoFeng Shui (japanese characters), is an ancient Chinese study of the natural environment and has a history of more than three thousand years.

Feng Shui, translated "Wind" and "Water", observes the relationship between the seen and unseen forces of nature. Like wind and water, you and your environment are two forces of nature. Your desires, goals, talents, attitudes, and feelings-like the unseen force of wind; and the home environment you live in - like the seenforce of water, are constantly interacting and influencing each other. And as with wind and water, when you and your home blend harmoniously, the effect is friendly, comfortable and positive.

It is a study of environment, people, places, time and how the energies (chi”i) of each interact. The power of Feng Shui can enrich and transform your life, create endless possibilities to contribute to good health, better  relationships, increase wealth, and so on…

Feng Shui can bring harmony and balance into your life through simple and effective
adjustments, such as proper placement of entrances, rooms, pathways and furniture;
through decor, certain colors, shapes, materials and so on... This can be done in variety of
ways while still accommodating one's personal taste. Each particular activity and person is
supported. Feng Shui is not just about making a house look nice. The house can be beautifully decorated   and still cause problems for the occupants.

Feng Shui consists of six scientific theories and principles:

  1. The Yin/Yang  Principle
  2. The Five Elements
  3. The Eight Trigrams
  4. The Directions (East/West System)
  5. The solar System ( Xuan Kong System)
  6. The Environment
Classical Feng Shui consultants use formulas and calculations.
Feng Shui is not a religion. It helps you to get in harmony with your environment. You don't
have to believe in it for it to work, but the right attitude always helps.
